One Man, Two Guvnors

Directed by Peter Hunt
Fired from his skiffle band, Francis Henshall becomes minder to Roscoe Crabbe, a small time East End crook, who is now in Brighton to collect a debt from his fiancé’s Dad. But Roscoe is really his sister Rachel posing as her own dead brother, who’s been killed by her boyfriend Stanley Stubbers. Ok so far?
Holed up at the Cricketer’s Arms, the permanently ravenous Francis spots the chance of an extra meal ticket and takes a second job with Stanley, who is hiding from the police after bumping Roscoe off, and is waiting to be reunited with Rachel. To prevent the discovery of having multiple jobs, Francis must keep his two guvnors apart. Simple.
This hilarious play was first staged at the National Theatre with huge success, starring James Corden as Francis.
The music, integral to the play, is performed live by our own band, The New Racketeers.
