‘Sex With Strangers’ starts in a snowbound cabin designed as a reprieve for reclusive writers. Its sole occupant is Olivia: a 39-year-old writer worried about the public’s scrutiny of her work. Her peace is shattered by the arrival of Ethan: a highly successful, handsome writer 10 years her junior. Ethan’s work recounts his experience of having sex with a different woman each week for a year. As an ardent admirer of Olivia’s work, within the beautiful snowy surroundings, the two writers discover they have a lot in common… a lot indeed.

Characters:
We are open to actors a bit older/younger than these ages, as long as there is a believable age gap between Olivia and Ethan. You do not need to be able to do an American accent! These roles both involve partial nudity at times, and there are quite a few kisses in the play.
Olivia. 39, then 41 later in the play. Smart, sexy, outwardly strong but covering some fragility. American but spent many years living abroad.
Ethan. 28, then 30 later in the play. Very charismatic, a fast talker, used to being the centre of attention. From Chicago but has no specific accent.

Read Through/Information Evening: 7:30 start. Before the read through we will give a short summary of our ideas for the production and answer any questions.
Audition Evening: 7:30 start. Each actor will have a chance to read different sections of the script. No need to learn the lines in advance but do familiarise yourself with the text.
