🎭🎶 CALLING ALL MUSICAL THEATRE LOVERS, SINGERS, DANCERS, WANNABE SINGERS, WANNABE DANCERS AND THOSE WANTING TO HAVE FUN…on stage of course!
After the huge success of our musical theatre showcase in July 2019, we are back for another ‘Songs of the Stage and Screen’, to be performed 6-9th September 2023.
Expect to rehearse all that week and most of the previous week (weekday evenings only). Before that, rehearsals will start at the end of May and be 2 or 3 evenings a week. You will only be called for the songs you are in.
The beauty of this show is your commitment can be as minimal as you like. Want to be in just one or two songs? Sure. Only want to be in chorus numbers? Great! We have lots of them.
🎭⭐️Interested in Auditioning?⭐️🎭
Auditions will be on Monday 15th May 7-10pm. There will be a chorus singing audition, then a light movement/characterisation audition, then an optional dance audition, and we will finish up with solo auditions for those who wish to be considered for solo singing.
The structure will be as follows:
7pm-7:10pm registration
7:10pm-7:50pm chorus singing auditions
7:50pm-8pm break
8pm-9pm movement audition, then dance audition
9pm-10pm solo singing auditions
Everyone will take part in the chorus singing and movement audition, but the dance audition and solo singing auditions are optional. We encourage you to give it a go!
You only need to prepare something if you are auditioning for solo singing, as everything else will be taught on the day. Just come in and show us your voice using a song you like. You can bring a backing track on your phone, we will have Bluetooth speakers for you. You can also sing a capella. Just roughly a minute long please as we will have a lot of people to get through.
Please note that you are not auditioning for a particular song to be in the show. We have a song list picked already, and we will assign people after the auditions.
